The widely used process of rebirth through calamity – characteristic to the genre - gives you the chance to build your avatar from scratch, but also to define the outcome of some of the key events of the previous game. And yes, you are coerced to accept it even if you have a bone to pick with the deities and the fate that was chosen for you. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to assemble a new crew, hunt down the giant and do the dirty biddings of the gods terrorized by the new apparition. Eothas awoke from slumber, destroyed the castle our hero rebuilt in the first game, stole his soul and taking on a form of a giant statue went on a rampage stomping all over the world. The good news is that nothing was lost on the way, and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a worthy successor to the first game, moreover, the console port developed by Obsidian Entertainment is just as ambitious as it’s PC counterpart. After the universal praise received both from game critics and gamers alike, it was to be expected that the developers will release a sequel, just as it was without doubt that the second game will make its way to the consoles as well. The first game of the series was the result of a very successful crowdfunding campaign, proving that there is still a lot of people looking for quality RPG experiences. If you are hungry to go on another quest to save the world, read on to find out if Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a port worth visiting or if you should keep to the open seas. Sadly, many of the recent ports and remakes were content on offering subpar experiences, just trying to take advantage of our nostalgia to make a quick cash grab.įortunately, some games show us that RPGs can work on consoles and can adapt to the requirements of our times and current gamers. The Star Cannon is crafted with a Minishark, 20 Meteorite Bars, and five Fallen Stars. It'll make short work of the Wall of Flesh, however. This monstrous weapon pumps out Fallen Stars with massive damage, although the rarity of its ammunition means it's quite a hard weapon to sustain.
